I\u2019m proud to have voted to pass the bipartisan <em>Respect for Marriage Act<\/em> so that all marriages can be respected and protected under federal law. And at a time when violence against the LGBTQ+ community is on the rise, we need to continue fighting to pass legislation that will strengthen federal anti-discrimination laws and protect LGBTQ+ rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, Nevada became the first state to enshrine marriage equality in its constitution.
