{"id":6564,"date":"2022-12-01T22:04:03","date_gmt":"2022-12-01T22:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rosen-testing.senate.gov\/?p=6564"},"modified":"2022-12-01T22:04:03","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T22:04:03","slug":"rosen-helps-introduce-legislation-to-protect-small-business-development-centers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/12\/01\/rosen-helps-introduce-legislation-to-protect-small-business-development-centers\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosen Helps Introduce Legislation to Protect Small Business Development Centers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em><strong>Nevada Is Home To 11 Small Business Development Centers Across The State<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON DC<\/strong> \u2013 Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, joined Committee Chairman Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ), Mazie Hirono (D- HI), Chris Coons (D-DE), Ed Markey (D-MA), and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) in introducing the <em>Small Business Development Centers Improvement Act <\/em>to reauthorize and improve the Small Business Administration\u2019s (SBA) Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Program, which delivers professional business advice and training focused on strategic planning, business development, financial planning, and cash flow management to small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevada has no shortage of innovators, entrepreneurs, and small business owners, and I\u2019m working every day to advocate on their behalf and ensure they have the support they need to grow and thrive,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThat&#8217;s why I\u2019m helping introduce legislation to reauthorize the Small Business Development Centers program, which provides invaluable resources, training, and advice to those looking to start or who are currently operating a small business in our state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevada is the home of 11 Small Business Development Centers. This legislation will make a number of updates to the SBDC program, including requiring the SBA to provide annual reports to Congress on all entrepreneurial activities and the SBDC program. Also, this legislation will require SBA to assess and report on their data-collecting practices as well as prohibit entities other than institutions of higher education from receiving new grants under the program.
