The legislation would require the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to identify areas where high rates of poor maternal health outcomes overlap with lack of access to broadband services in order to pinpoint where telehealth services can be most effective.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am proud to have worked in a bipartisan way to pass this critical law that will help better identify where telemedicine improvements will be the most effective to improve outcomes for expectant mothers and save lives,\u201d <strong>said Senator Rosen<\/strong>. \u201cThe Data Mapping to Save Moms\u2019 Lives law will go a long way towards improving maternal health outcomes for women in Nevada and across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn many rural communities, pregnant women lack reliable access to the maternal health resources they need. Hospitals are often too far away, and poor broadband connections make utilizing telehealth services difficult. By analyzing broadband data alongside maternal health outcomes, our new law will help to identify the areas where better connectivity can help to save lives,\u201d <strong>said Senator Fischer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, Indiana has one of the worst maternal mortality rates in the country. I\u2019m glad the President has now signed our Data Mapping to Save Moms\u2019 Lives Act into law to improve the lives of Hoosier mothers and families. This new law will identify where high maternal mortality rates coincide with lack of broadband services to help ensure these regions have access to the life-saving telehealth services that pregnant women need for better care,\u201d <strong>said Senator Young.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a leading voice in advocating for effective and accessible health care. Recently, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/10\/18\/rosen-collins-lee-bipartisan-bicameral-mobile-health-act-signed-into-law\/\"><em>Maximizing Outcomes through Better Investments in Lifesaving Equipment for (MOBILE) Health Care Act<\/em><\/a>, legislation Senator Rosen introduced with Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) and Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03), was signed into law by President Biden.
