I will continue working in the Senate to increase the availability of affordable housing and address housing insecurity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis funding I secured will support organizations across the state that are doing important work on the ground to end homelessness in our communities,\u201d <strong>said Senator Cortez Masto.<\/strong> \u201cNevada has one of the highest rates of homelessness in the country, and I\u2019m working to secure every resource possible to help families find a safe, affordable place to call home.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have been actively working at the federal level to lower housing costs and increase the availability of affordable housing for Nevadans. They both helped pass the <em>American Rescue Plan Act<\/em>, which included nearly $165 million in funding to Nevada for emergency rental assistance, as well as the funding for Nevada\u2019s $500 million Home Means Nevada Initiative.
