I will continue working in the Senate to provide increased rural broadband deployment to improve the lives of Nevadans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> Senator Rosen voted in favor of the 2018 Farm Bill, which included several provisions related to promoting broadband deployment.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Rosen is a Co-Sponsor of the Office of Rural broadband Act, which would direct the FCC to create an Office of Rural Broadband to coordinate efforts with RUS and NTIA and other agencies to ensure the success of rural broadband initiatives, remove barriers to broadband deployment, track internet subscription rates in rural areas, and to report on its efforts to promote and sustain quality and affordable rural communications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-center\">###<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ELKO, NV &#8211;Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a Member of the Senate Commerce Committee\u2019s Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation, and the Internet, met with a working group dedicated to providing middle-mile telecommunications access to Elko County&#8217;s residents. \u201cNevadans in all corners of this state deserve access to quality broadband internet connections,\u201d said Senator Rosen.
