Currently, many CBP policies that outline drug interdiction practices are outdated and do not provide guidance on how to handle drugs such as fentanyl.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFentanyl is a deadly drug that is killing people and breaking up families in Nevada and across our nation,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThis bipartisan legislation will ensure that law enforcement officers are better prepared to stop drug smuggling into the United States by providing them with updated tools and training necessary to prevent the spread of dangerous drugs like fentanyl and help save lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This legislation, which Senator Rosen also co-sponsored last Congress when it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/12\/15\/rosen-backed-bipartisan-end-fentanyl-act-passes-senate\/\">passed the U.S. Senate<\/a>, builds off the 2019 GAO report, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gao.gov\/products\/gao-19-658#:~:text=Analysis%20of%20Inspections-,Land%20Ports%20of%20Entry%3A%20CBP%20Should%20Update%20Policies%20and%20Enhance,terrorists%2C%20criminals%2C%20and%20contraband.\">Land Ports of Entry: CBP Should Update Policies and Enhance Analysis of Inspections<\/a>,\u201d which found that drug interdiction guidance has not been updated in 20 years. Senator Rosen has taken action to help address the threat of dangerous and illegal drugs coming into the United States.
