This funding comes following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Letter-of-Support-Redwood-Materials-DOE-LPO.pdf\">a letter sent<\/a> by Senators Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Congressman Mark Amodei (R-NV) urging Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to support this project. The project would be the first facility in the U.S. to support the production of critical materials in a fully closed-loop lithium-ion battery manufacturing process by recycling end-of-life batteries and production scrap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevada is central to strengthening our domestic clean energy supply chain and creating good-paying jobs,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m grateful the Energy Department is heeding our call to provide this funding to help support electric vehicle battery production in our state and create thousands of jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a leader in securing the domestic critical minerals supply chain and advocating for clean energy technologies. Senator Rosen\u2019s provision to promote the use of critical minerals and develop a secure and reliable critical mineral supply chain was included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/08\/09\/rosen-backed-chips-and-science-act-signed-into-law\/\"><em>CHIPS and Science Act<\/em><\/a>, which became law last year.
