Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act<\/em>, which would strengthen protections for workers\u2019 right to organize a union and bargain for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. As Nevada workers experience inflation and a rising cost of living, this legislation would empower them to stand together and organize to obtain their fair share of economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a former member of the Culinary Workers Union in Nevada, I know firsthand just how important unions are to lift up working families,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cAt a time when many hardworking Nevadans are seeing the cost of living outpace the wages they earn, we need to protect their right to organize and to bargain for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions without fear of intimidation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRebuilding our middle class requires giving workers the power to make change. The PRO Act will do exactly that by ensuring that workers can unionize and advocate for the benefits and wages that they deserve,\u201d <strong>said Susie Martinez, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Nevada AFL-CIO.<\/strong> \u201cSenator Rosen has been a constant pro-labor leader. She knows that by making the right to unionize a guarantee, Nevada\u2019s working families can create better futures for themselves. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act of 2023,\u201d <strong>said Ted Pappageorge, Secretary-Treasurer for the Culinary Union. <\/strong>\u201cThe PRO Act would protect workers who organize, give working people a real say in their future, and protect democracy in the workplace. Culinary Union applauds Nevada Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen for working to strengthen workers&#8217; rights and the process to unionize. Last year, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/03\/01\/northern-nevada-communication-workers-union-president-to-virtually-attend-state-of-the-union-as-senator-rosens-guest\/\">invited<\/a> Marc Ellis, President of the Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 9413 in Northern Nevada, as her State of the Union virtual guest to highlight the good-paying jobs being created for broadband deployment from the <em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>.
