This decision could ultimately affect pro-choice states like Nevada, where access to this medication could be restricted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEnsuring women have access to Mifepristone\u2014medication the FDA approved more than two decades ago for medical termination of pregnancy and treatment of miscarriages\u2014is a critical step in preserving every woman\u2019s right and freedom to make reproductive health choices in consultation with her healthcare provider,\u201d <strong>wrote the Senators.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA major retail pharmacy prematurely wading into complicated and controversial legal matters threatens to undermine public trust and confidence in retail pharmacies and pharmacists,\u201d <strong>the Senators\u2019 letter continued.<\/strong> \u201cWe urge Walgreens to demonstrate its commitment to putting patients first by prioritizing obtaining FDA specialty certification to dispense Mifepristone and publicly clarifying that any hypothetical dispensing decisions remain undecided and premature at best, while the company seeks pharmacy certification.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The full letter can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/23.03.08-Senator-Duckworth-Led-Joint-Letter-to-Walgreens-Boots-Alliance-Mifepristone.pdf\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a fierce advocate for women\u2019s reproductive rights. Yesterday, Senator Rosen helped introduce the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/03\/08\/rosen-cortez-masto-introduce-legislation-to-restore-and-protect-americans-right-to-an-abortion-nationwide\/\"><em>Women\u2019s Health Protection Act<\/em><\/a> to enshrine Roe v. Wade in federal law and restore the right to comprehensive reproductive health care for millions of Americans.
