Brightline West projects that its proposed high-speed rail project will remove 3 million cars from Interstate-15 annually, reducing more than 400,000 tons of carbon emissions each year, creating 35,000 good-paying jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI write in strong support of Brightline West\u2019s proposed high-speed rail project, which will connect Las Vegas and Southern California. The <em>Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act<\/em>, which I was proud to help write and pass, authorized the Federal Railroad Administration to make billions of dollars in investments in critical rail projects through the Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program,\u201d <strong>wrote Senator Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI urge the U.S. Department of Transportation to stand ready to receive Nevada Department of Transportation\u2019s application for this program to construct a high-speed rail system with Brightline West, and to give the application full and fair consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBrightline estimates that the completed rail system will remove 3 million cars from I-15 annually, reduce more than 400,000 tons of carbon emissions each year, and create 35,000 good-paying jobs,\u201d <strong>Senator Rosen continued.<\/strong> \u201cAdditionally, Brightline West recently announced an agreement establishing a commitment with several craft rail unions for the use of highly skilled union labor in critical jobs required to operate and maintain the project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The full letter can be found <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/DOT-stand-ready-FSPIPR-grant-program_ROSEN-3.22.23.pdf\"><strong>aqu\u00ed<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a strong supporter of the Brightline high-speed rail between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
