RENO, NV<\/strong> – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced she took action to push the U.S. Department of Transportation to provide federal funding to Reno-Tahoe International Airport for the reconstruction and expansion of its terminal. Senator Rosen sent a letter<\/a> to the U.S. Department of Transportation urging them to stand ready to receive and approve the airport\u2019s application to use funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>\u2019s Airport Terminal Project, which Senator Rosen helped create, to improve the travel experience and help the region accommodate more annual visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is Reno: <\/strong>Senator Rosen pushes for funding to update airport<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the airport [yesterday], follows a letter sent today to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg sharing details of the project and urging the U.S. Department of Transportation to consider the project for funding through its infrastructure budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosen was part of a bipartisan group of senators that worked on the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed into law on Nov. 15, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
