Juneteenth has been celebrated every June 19th since 1865.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJune 19th marks the date in 1865 when President Lincoln\u2019s order made it all the way south, and the end of slavery was finally recognized in each and every corner of our country,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cJuneteenth gives us an opportunity to ponder the consequences of this indescribable chapter in American history, but it\u2019s also an opportunity to celebrate the countless rich contributions the African American community has made to every facet of our American identity.
