Small businesses like Gwen\u2019s not only help our economy succeed, they also give back and uplift our communities. I will continue to be an advocate for the needs of small businesses, especially minority-owned small businesses, in every corner of Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> Expertise Cosmetology Institute is the first African American owned school of cosmetology in Nevada and helps many of their students receive degrees in Cosmetology, Hair Design, Nail Technology, Aesthetics, and Barbering. In addition to running this institute, Mrs. Braimoh also runs the Expertise New Path program, which helps women earn their cosmetology license while incarcerated at Florence McClure Women\u2019s Correctional Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship has jurisdiction over matters relating to the Small Business Administration and investigates all programs relating to America\u2019s small businesses.
