This bipartisan legislation would keep in place provisions allowing the President to impose sanctions on Iran\u2019s energy sectors by removing sunset provisions from the original Act. The bill sends a strong signal that the U.S. remains committed to holding Iran accountable for its malign actions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSanctions have been critical in holding Iran accountable for its destabilizing actions, including support for terrorist proxies,\u201d<strong> dijo el Senador Rosen. <\/strong>\u201cWith Iran closer than ever to a nuclear weapon, I\u2019m proud to join my colleagues in introducing bipartisan legislation that applies pressure on the Iranian regime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespite efforts by the United States and our allies to improve regional stability and cooperation in the Middle East, Iran, a supporter and exporter of terrorism, threatens not only its neighbors, but global stability overall. That\u2019s why I\u2019m helping introduce bipartisan, bicameral legislation to ensure the United States retains the full sanctions authority we need to protect Americans and our allies and to check Iran\u2019s belligerent activities across the globe. Regardless of political party, Congress must stand firm against the Iranian regime\u2019s brutal repression of its own people, its funding of terrorism abroad, and its reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons,\u201d <strong>said Congresswoman Lee.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe <em>Solidifying Iran Sanction Act<\/em> is an important bipartisan effort to solidify critical sanctions on the Iranian regime at a time when Tehran is dangerously advancing its nuclear program and targeting U.S. troops,\u201d <strong>said American Israel Public Affairs Committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside Rosen and Lee, the <em>Solidify Iran Sanction Ac<\/em>t was introduced by Senators Tim Scott (R-SC), Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and Bill Hagerty (R-TN), in addition to Rep. Michelle Steel (R-CA) and Rep. Michael McCaul, the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a co-founder and co-chair of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus, Senator Rosen has taken a leading role in Congress in working to hold Iran accountable for its malign actions. Last week, Senator Rosen introduced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/04\/27\/rosen-leads-abraham-accord-caucus-in-introducing-bipartisan-bill-to-counter-maritime-threats-posed-by-iran\/\"><em>Maritime Architecture and Response to International Terrorism in the Middle East (MARITIME) Act<\/em><\/a> to counter maritime threats posed by Iran in the Middle East.
