During her remarks, Senator Rosen discussed her bipartisan Building Blocks of STEM Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe work CEE does each day is critical in creating the next generation of American scientists, engineers, inventors, and leaders,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cDespite the increase in STEM career opportunities, there aren\u2019t enough students out there who have the necessary STEM skills to work in these jobs. That&#8217;s why, earlier this year, I introduced the bipartisan Building Blocks of STEM Act, legislation that will help ensure that our children are prepared with the education necessary to succeed in a 21st-century economy, while also taking steps to close the gender gap in STEM.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> Earlier this year, Senator Rosen introduced the bipartisan Building Blocks of STEM Act, which would create and expand upon STEM education initiatives at the National Science Foundation (NSF) for young children, including new research grants to increase the participation of girls in computer science.
