In Congress, I\u2019ve introduced bipartisan legislation to prepare Nevada\u2019s workforce to become more cyber-ready and supported bills to equip small businesses and individuals with the tools they need to protect themselves against cyber-attacks. I will continue working on forward thinking legislation that fortifies our country\u2019s cybersecurity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> In May, Senator Rosen introduced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-introduces-bipartisan-bicameral-cyber-ready-workforce-act\/\">Cyber Ready Workforce Act<\/a> (S. 1466), bipartisan legislation that would direct the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to award grants to workforce intermediaries to support the creation, implementation, and expansion of registered apprenticeship programs in cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Rosen introduced the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/train-next-generation-cybersecurity-rosen-leads-bipartisan-group-senators-introducing-jrotc-cyber\/\">JROTC Cyber Training Act<\/a>, legislation that would direct the Secretary of Defense to carry out a program to enhance the preparation of students in the Junior Reserve Officers\u2019 Training Corps (JROTC) for careers in computer science and cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<p>Rosen is also the lead sponsor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-rounds-introduce-bipartisan-us-israel-cybersecurity-center-excellence-act\/\">US-Israel Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Act<\/a>, bipartisan legislation that would require the State Department to investigate the potential benefits of establishing a joint US-Israel cybersecurity center.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the House, then-Congresswoman Rosen helped introduce the NIST Small Business Cybersecurity Act of 2017, to direct the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to work with other federal agencies to create and make available clear and concise resources to help small businesses identify, manage, and reduce their cybersecurity risks.
