{"id":9046,"date":"2023-05-22T21:30:21","date_gmt":"2023-05-22T21:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rosen-testing.senate.gov\/?p=9046"},"modified":"2023-05-22T21:30:21","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T21:30:21","slug":"rosen-cortez-masto-statements-on-lower-basin-states-colorado-river-deal-to-combat-drought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/22\/rosen-cortez-masto-statements-on-lower-basin-states-colorado-river-deal-to-combat-drought\/","title":{"rendered":"Rosen, Cortez Masto Statements on Lower Basin States\u2019 Colorado River Deal to Combat Drought"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WASHINGTON DC <\/strong>\u2013 U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, released the following statements in response to the Lower Basin States\u2019 proposed plan to conserve 3 million acre-feet of water over the next three years to protect the Colorado River system.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith extreme drought across the West, Nevada has consistently prioritized water conservation \u2013 often using less water than what is required,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen. <\/strong>\u201cWhile this proposed plan is a positive step forward, I\u2019ll continue working to find a permanent solution to address water sustainability for the Colorado River Basin and protect Nevadans\u2019 access to water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevada continues to lead efforts to combat drought in the West, and this plan will make a real difference while putting the entire Colorado River Basin on a path to permanent water savings,\u201d <strong>said Senator Cortez Masto. <\/strong>\u201cI\u2019ll keep working with the Department of the Interior and states across the West to make sure the Inflation Reduction Act funding continues to build upon this progress and support the long-term water reduction that we need to protect our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have been leaders in the Senate working to combat drought.
