I will continue working to improve access to affordable, quality health care for Nevadans and to support resources and programs that will address, and one day cure, this disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> Recently, Senator Rosen joined a bipartisan group of Senators in urging the Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services (CMS) to conduct an outreach campaign to educate clinicians, Medicare beneficiaries with cognitive impairment, and their families on the assessment and care planning services currently available to them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/node\/357\/\">In July<\/a>, Senator Rosen launched the bipartisan Comprehensive Care Caucus, with co-chairs Senators John Barrasso (R-WY), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), and Deb Fischer (R-NE). The Caucus will work to expand access to palliative care, which is specialized medical care focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, Rosen co-sponsored the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-co-sponsors-improving-hope-alzheimers-act\/\">Improving HOPE (Health, Outcomes, Planning, and Education) for Alzheimer\u2019s Act<\/a>, legislation that would work to increase the utilization of care planning resources among Alzheimer\u2019s patients and caregivers.<\/p>\n<p>Last Congress, then-Congresswoman Rosen co-sponsored the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer\u2019s Act, bipartisan legislation to provide funding to state and public health departments to implement effective interventions to promote early detection and diagnosis and reduce risk.
