Senator Rosen discussed the progress made by legislation like the <em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em> and <em>CHIPS and Science Act<\/em>, and called for a tax cut for the middle class to help lower families\u2019 expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Las Vegas Sun:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/lasvegassun.com\/news\/2023\/aug\/13\/lower-costs-and-tax-cuts-are-how-we-can-support-ne\/\">Lower costs and tax cuts are how we can support Nevada\u2019s middle class<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By Jacky Rosen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nevadans have faced inflation and rising costs, forcing many hardworking families to make tough decisions as high prices strain their budgets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No Nevadan should face the impossible choice of which essential they can live without. That\u2019s why I\u2019ve been working in Congress \u2014 with both Republicans and Democrats \u2014 to find commonsense solutions to lower costs, create good-paying jobs, and improve the lives of Nevadans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I\u2019m working in a bipartisan way to lower child care costs and give families more affordable options. My bipartisan Small Business Child Care Investment Act recently passed out of committee in the Senate and is one step closer to becoming law.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, we capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month. And, we were able to ensure that Medicare can finally negotiate for lower prices. This is saving seniors\u2019 hard-earned dollars and making sure they can afford life-saving medications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lowering housing costs for Nevada\u2019s families starts by expanding affordable housing options across the state, and that starts by increasing the land available to develop for more housing projects.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With inflation and rising interest rates, our middle class families have been getting squeezed for far too long and it\u2019s time we give them more breathing room and peace of mind. That\u2019s why we need to lower Nevadans expenses by cutting taxes for the middle class.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While we work to cut costs for Nevada families, we also need to make sure they have more opportunities for good-paying jobs.
