Rosen Announces New State Director for Nevada

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced Jennifer M. López as her office’s new State Director based in Las Vegas. Most recently, López was a Senior Public Relations Account Executive at the Nevada-based advertising and marketing agency R&R Partners. Nelson Araujo, who held the role of State Director in Senator Rosen’s office since January 2019, is departing this week after ensuring a smooth transition.

López has lived in Las Vegas for 25 years and has extensive experience in Nevada politics and government, having previously worked as Public Information Officer for the Nevada Attorney General’s Office under now-Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Nevada Deputy Press Secretary for former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. She has also worked in various Nevada-based roles for the presidential campaign of then-Senator Barack Obama and Organizing for America.

In addition, López has been actively involved in the community as a former member of the Nevada Commission for Women, the Public Education Foundation, and Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada and as chair of the R&R Partners Foundation Employee Board. A proud first-generation daughter of Colombian and Nicaraguan immigrants, López is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and received her master’s degree in public communication from American University.

“I’m thrilled to have Jennifer joining the team as our new State Director, and I know she will do a fantastic job leading our Nevada offices and providing the best constituent services possible,” said Senator Rosen. “Jennifer’s extensive community involvement and experience building diverse coalitions will make her a tremendous asset to our mission of ensuring all Nevadans get the representation they deserve.”

“I’m also so grateful to Nelson for his outstanding service over these past three years, and he will forever be a member of the Rosen team,” added Senator Rosen. “From the very start of my time in the Senate, Nelson has been an indispensable advisor overseeing our casework and outreach teams as we built strong partnerships and relationships across the state while navigating unprecedented challenges. Throughout it all, Nelson’s focus has always been ensuring our office puts Nevadans first in everything we do.”

“I am deeply humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve every corner of our unique and diverse state as State Director for Senator Rosen,” said López. “I admire Senator Rosen’s commitment to the prosperity of all hardworking Nevadans, her independent voice, and her passion for bringing people together to find commonsense, bipartisan solutions. I look forward to working on behalf of Nevadans every day and providing them with access to outstanding constituent services.”
