Rosen, Cortez Masto Applaud Over $500,000 for Environmental Development for Tribal Communities

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) released the following statement applauding the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for awarding $512,562 to the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, to be used for environmental development and improved water quality.

“Access to clean water and a waste-free environment plays a pivotal role in leading a healthy life. We applaud the EPA for supporting environmental development programs within our state, including within Nevada’s tribal lands,” said the Senators. “This grant funding will be used to analyze and develop waste management programs, enact water quality programs, and train staff to maintain environmental standards within the Washoe Tribe. We will continue to advocate for funding that provides environmental protections for Nevadans in every corner of our state.”
