Rosen, Cortez Masto Applaud $7.2 Million HHS Grant Awarded to Nevada to Combat Opioid Crisis

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), and the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, and U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) released the following statement applauding the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for awarding Nevada a State Opioid Response (SOR) grant totaling $7,219,593 to be used to combat the opioid crisis by expanding access to treatment and supporting near real-time data on the drug overdose crisis.

“Our nation’s opioid epidemic is a national health crisis that must be addressed with urgency,” said the Senators. “This funding will allow Nevada access to greater resources for prevention, education, and training to help those wrestling with addiction. We will continue to support programs that help to combat the dangers of opioids and protect the health of Nevadans.”
