Rosen to Return Over $250,000 to U.S. Treasury from Senate Office Budget

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), announced that her office will return over $250,000 to the United States Treasury in money unspent from her official 2019 operating budget.

“One of the hallmarks of good government is fiscally responsible stewardship of hard-earned taxpayer money,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m proud to announce that my office will be returning over $250,000 to the U.S. Treasury. I will continue to find ways to prevent the taxpayer dollars of hardworking constituents from going to waste.”

BACKGROUND: Senator Rosen has supported a number of efforts to reduce government waste and abuse of taxpayer dollars. During her time in the House of Representatives, then-Congresswoman Rosen returned over $350,000 to the Treasury. Congresswoman Rosen’s office also successfully returned nearly $1 million in benefits to Nevada’s hardworking families.

Last Congress, Rosen sent a bipartisan letter to House appropriators urging them to prohibit the use of taxpayer money for first-class flights for Members of Congress and co-sponsored a bill that would prevent U.S. taxpayer money from going to corrupt foreign governments.
