Rosen Addresses Asian American and Pacific Islander Business Community at Las Vegas Asian Night Market

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), an Honorary Associate Member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, addressed members of Las Vegas’s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community at the Las Vegas Asian Night Market. During her remarks, Senator Rosen spoke on issues affecting Nevada’s AAPI community, including health care, education, small businesses and immigration reform.

“Our country’s diversity is our strength. I was honored to help celebrate the culture of Las Vegas’s Asian American community tonight,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m proud to represent one of the fastest growing Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the nation. I will continue working with organizations like OCA and the AsianCommunity Development Council to listen to the needs of the AAPI community and better represent the many AsianAmerican and Pacific Islanders who call Nevada home.”

BACKGROUND: In July, Senator Rosen questioned U.S. Census Bureau officials during a Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) hearing on the bureau’s efforts to ensure that immigrant communities are accurately counted in the 2020 U.S. Census, highlighting a letter she had previously sent to the Census Bureau requesting they provide additional language options for the Internet Self-Response and Census Questionnaire Assistance, including Khmer, Hmong, and Lao.
