LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, answered questions from members of the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce and provided an update on the federal government’s COVID-19 response. Senator Rosen was joined by U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Nevada District Director Joseph Amato and discussed the economic resources that are available to Nevada’s small business community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Senator also shared the legislative actions she has taken in Congress to help protect Nevada’s economy and the well-being of Nevada workers and business owners, including her successful effort to expand the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to gaming small businesses.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing Nevada’s small business community to face unprecedented challenges and economic hardship. I’m continuing to partner with our local Chambers of Commerce throughout the state to support our small businesses by helping them navigate the resources that are available and answering their most pressing questions regarding the interim package that passed Congress this week,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “Ensuring that all of Nevada’s small business owners are able to successfully access the resources they need remains my number one priority. After working with SBA Administrator Carranza and my colleagues on the Senate Small Business Committee, I’m proud my calls for reform were answered today and the restrictions were lifted for all of our gaming small businesses, giving them full access to the Paycheck Protection Program. As Congress looks towards the next coronavirus relief package, I’ll continue to prioritize Nevada’s small businesses and their workers, and fight to make sure they can access much needed resources.”
