LAS VEGAS, NV – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, participated in a video conference with members of Las Vegas’ Asian Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Nevada District Director Joe Amato to provide an update on the federal government’s COVID-19 response, discuss her actions to support Nevada small businesses, answer questions from small business owners, and address recent reports of xenophobia against the AAPI community related to the coronavirus pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is creating unique challenges for our state’s AAPI community,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I am deeply disturbed by the surge of reports detailing incidents of racist and xenophobic attacks against our Asian American community. Fear mongering and hate are affecting Asian-owned restaurants and businesses across our country. As a member of the Small Business Committee, I’m committed to supporting all of our small businesses across the state and will work hard to ensure that none of Nevada’s businesses are left behind in the federal government’s pandemic response.”
