Rosen Applauds $4.2 Million in Grant Funding Awarded to Support Nevada Higher Education COVID Response, Science, and TRIO Programs

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, released the following statement applauding news that the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) and colleges and universities across Nevada have received grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Commerce totaling $4,239,954. These grants will be used to fund NSHE’s COVID-19 response, student support services, the TRIO program, and scientific research.

“Education plays a critical role in our state. We are the proud home to a diverse group of institutions of higher education that are working to support Nevada students in their educational pursuits,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m glad to see this grant funding, awarded to NSHE and Nevada’s colleges and universities, will be used to benefit students as they continue their education during this difficult time. I will continue working to ensure that Nevada education receives its fair share of federal funding.”
