WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC), released the following statement commemorating the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attack:
“On this day, twenty years ago, our country was attacked. During that horrific act of terror, the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans were taken from us. Today, we remember those lost to us on that dark day, we share in the mourning of their families and loved ones, and we strive to honor their memories.” dijo el Senador Rosen. “This is also a moment to recognize the many examples of American heroism we saw that day. During the chaos and violence, brave men and women – true patriots – put themselves in harm’s way to save lives. Two decades later, the courage displayed by American servicemembers, first responders, and ordinary citizens still inspires awe in every American and deserves our nation’s unwavering admiration and gratitude for all time.”
BACKGROUND: Last Congress, Senator Rosen voted in support of legislation to extend authorization for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001 through fiscal year 2092. This legislation was then signed into law.
