WASHINGTON DC – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), co-chair of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, along with fellow co-chair Senator James Lankford (R-OK) and House co-chairs Reps. Ted Deutch (D-FL) and Chris Smith (R-NJ), convened members of the House and Senate Bipartisan Task Forces for Combating Antisemitism and members of the Biden Administration. This event was an opportunity for members of Congress and Administration officials to meet and discuss ways they can collaborate to counter rising antisemitism. 

“With antisemitism on the rise, it’s important for public officials to come together and take a united stand against hate,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I was glad I was able to convene a bipartisan, bicameral group of my colleagues with officials from the Biden Administration to collaborate in the fight against antisemitism so that we can protect Jewish communities in the United States and around the world.”

In addition to Senator Rosen, Congressional attendees included Senators James Lankford (R-OK) and Ben Cardin (D-MD); Representatives Ted Deutch (D-FL), Chris Smith (R-NJ), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Grace Meng (D-NY), David Cicilline (D-RI), Ted Lieu (D-CA), Steve Chabot (R-OH), Brad Schneider (D-IL), and Kathy Manning (D-NC). 

Members of the Biden Administration present at the meeting were Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism; Ambassador Rashad Hussain, Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom; Melissa Rogers, Executive Director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships; Chanan Weissman, outgoing White House Jewish Liaison; and Shelley Greenspan, incoming White House Jewish Liaison.
