Rosen Celebrates Plan to Designate Avi Kwa Ame as a National Monument in Nevada

WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) applauded President Biden’s plan to designate Avi Kwa Ame as the newest National Monument in Nevada. Senator Rosen was present at the White House Tribal Nations Summit, where the President’s announcement was made today.

“Establishing a new National Monument at Avi Kwa Ame will safeguard an area of cultural importance to Tribal nations that is rich with wildlife and incredible natural beauty,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’ve firmly supported the movement to honor Avi Kwa Ame, and this welcome announcement from the President will ensure  that this land remains permanently protected in Southern Nevada.”

Senator Rosen, along with the Nevada Congressional Delegation, has been actively engaged with conservation groups, Tribal communities, local stakeholders, and Administration officials to ensure all voices are being represented and heard throughout the monument designation process.
