Rosen Statement Following the State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement after attending this year’s State of the Union Address.

“I was honored to be joined by Las Vegas Metro Police Officer Laura Villicana as my State of the Union guest, and to highlight her efforts to improve law enforcement relationships in our communities. As an East Las Vegas native, Officer Villicana has been doing exemplary work to ensure public safety, strengthen local bonds, and enhance community outreach efforts in Northeast Las Vegas. Her actions should serve as a model for protecting the community through prevention and partnership,” dijo el Senador Rosen.

“Tonight served as a reminder of the progress we can achieve by coming together and working across the aisle to find common-sense solutions for hardworking families. As we look ahead to a new Congress, I will keep fighting to address the ongoing challenges that Nevadans face, like high inflation and rising costs, and solving problems for our state in a bipartisan way. I will push my colleagues to find common ground to support our veterans and law enforcement, provide economic relief for middle-class families, and help small businesses across our state,” Senator Rosen continued.

Senator Rosen has been a bipartisan leader in the Senate, working with colleagues across the aisle to deliver for Nevadans. Last Congress, Senator Rosen helped pass every major bipartisan piece of legislation, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that she co-wrote and the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Law to boost domestic computer chip production — reducing the United States’ reliance on foreign nations like China and creating thousands of good-paying domestic manufacturing jobs. Senator Rosen also secured major legislative wins in the most recent bipartisan government funding package, including legislation to strengthen the travel and tourism industry, address the ongoing medical provider shortage in rural and underserved communities, and expand mental health training services.
