The Bill Would Protect Nevada Doctors And Other Health Care Providers From Prosecution By Anti-Choice States For Providing Critical Reproductive Health Care
WASHINGTON DC – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped introduce the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act, which would protect doctors and other health care providers in pro-choice states like Nevada against prosecution by anti-choice states. The bill would ensure that providers in states where abortion remains legal are protected from any efforts to restrict their practice or create uncertainty about their legal ability to provide health care.
“As part of their continued efforts to ban abortion nationwide, anti-choice Republicans across the country have threatened doctors with prosecution for providing women reproductive health care services,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I’m helping introduce legislation to protect abortion providers in Nevada from being punished by another state’s restrictive abortion laws.”
Senator Rosen continues pushing back against anti-choice Republicans’ efforts to restrict and ban abortion access nationwide. Last week, Senator Rosen delivered a floor speech denouncing legislation in the Senate that would have restricted abortion access for veterans, before voting against the failed anti-choice measure. Earlier this year, Rosen helped introduce the Women’s Health Protection Act, legislation that would enshrine the protections of Roe v. Wade into federal law and restore the right to comprehensive reproductive health care for millions of Americans.
