WASHINGTON DC – On Friday, Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that Nevada will receive more than $43.5 million to increase high-speed internet access throughout the state. Senator Rosen secured this federal funding through her Middle Mile Broadband Deployment Act, which created the Middle Mile Infrastructure Grant Program, and became law as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Rosen also helped write. This funding will help facilitate and improve the internet connection of more than 21,000 locations across Nevada.

- It’s not Rosen’s first foray into internet access issues. In May, she got the Federal Communications Commission to update its broadband internet access map after she said it grossly underestimated access in rural Nevada, which could have cost the state funding to expand that service. The new map reflected nearly 27,000 potential new internet service locations in the state, she said.
