Rosen Statement on Passing of Dolores Huerta

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen released the following statement after the passing of Dolores Huerta, a leader in the fight for the rights of migrant workers. Dolores was a founder of the National Farm Workers Association, leading a movement that helped change the lives of thousands of migrant laborers. Dolores was also a champion for immigration reform and women’s rights.

“I join families around the country in mourning Dolores Huerta’s passing,” dijo el Senador Rosen. “I had the pleasure of meeting Dolores on many occasions, and I will never forget her warmth and commitment to standing up against injustice. She touched so many lives throughout her decades of service, fighting to advance the rights of immigrants, women, and farm workers. Her ability to energize and engage a community advocating for a better future was unmatched. May she rest in peace and power.”

In April 2025, Senator Rosen’s team celebrated the opening of Dolores Huerta Resource Center in North Las Vegas, which offers services and resources to the large Hispanic community in her honor. This center is just one of the many ways her legacy lives on.
