Rosen Statement on Jewish American Heritage Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement commemorating Jewish American Heritage Month.

“Each May, our country comes together to recognize, celebrate, and honor the contributions of Jewish Americans,” said Senator Rosen. “During this time when anti-Semitism and bigotry is on the rise, it is vitally important that we lift up members of the Jewish American community, honor their achievements, and celebrate their immeasurable contributions to our great nation. I will continue to stand up for Jewish values like those that encourage us to repair the world around us. As we reflect on these values, let’s recommit this month to standing up against anti-Semitism in all its forms, and standing up for equality and acceptance.”

BACKGROUND: Senator Rosen holds the distinction of being the third female Jewish Senator in U.S. history, as well as the first former synagogue president to serve in the United States Senate. As such, Senator Rosen has been an outspoken advocate of combating anti-Semitism in the United States, the Middle East, Europe, and around the world.
