Rosen Co-Sponsors Bipartisan Forest Management for Rural Stability Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), announced her co-sponsorship of the Forest Management for Rural Stability Act (S. 430). This bipartisan legislation would create an endowment fund for Secure Rural Schools (SRS), ensuring that the program, which provides funding for counties with forests on federal land, is made permanent. In FY18, Nevada received approximately $3.3 million dollars in SRS funding.

“This bipartisan legislation would provide compensation to our counties for forest land that is located on federal land, and in turn that funding can be used to fund key programs such as schools, infrastructure, and law enforcement,” said Senator Rosen. “I will continue to support legislation that preserves our environment and benefits all Nevadans.”
