WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement commemorating Native American Heritage Month, celebrated each November.
“This month we recognize and celebrate the rich cultural history of Native Americans across our country,” said Senator Rosen. “I am proud to represent many tribal nations in the state of Nevada, many of whose traditions and cultures date back thousands of years. I will continue working as an advocate for these tribal communities, ensuring that they are included in policy discussions, and have a seat at the table.”
BACKGROUND: Last month, Senator Rosen co-sponsored a resolution recognizing Native American Heritage Month, the vibrant culture and traditions of Native Americans, and their contributions to the history of the United States. Earlier this month the resolution passed the Senate.
