WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed each year from September 15 through October 15:
“Members of our Hispanic community have helped shape our state of Nevada and our nation,” said Senator Rosen. “During Hispanic Heritage Month, we recognize the incredible contributions of Hispanic Americans across a wide array of areas. Hispanic Americans are educators and artists, scientists and doctors, business owners and public servants. They make up the fabric of America and are part of our shared history, and their contributions have helped build this country. This month we honor the culture and achievements of Hispanic Americans in Nevada and across America.”
BACKGROUND: Last year, Senator Rosen co-sponsored bipartisan legislation that would authorize the Smithsonian Institution to create a museum honoring American Latinos.
