WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined Senators Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Susan Collins (R-ME) in introducing the Outdoors for All Act, bipartisan legislation that would create a dedicated source of funding for projects that expand outdoor recreation opportunities in urban and low-income communities across the nation.
“All Nevadans deserve access to outdoor recreation areas, but too many Nevadans living in urban and low-income areas lack opportunities to visit and enjoy these kinds of spaces,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to help introduce this bipartisan legislation to invest in ensuring that parks, playgrounds, and trails are equitably developed in our communities, allowing all Nevadans to better enjoy the outdoors.”
BACKGROUND: The Outdoors for All Act establishes the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program in federal law and guarantees funding for the program. The ORLP program supports urban parks in underserved communities across the country.
