LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, U.S. Senator Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement in anticipation of the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
“Forty-nine years after the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, a woman’s freedom to make personal decisions about her health care, her body, and her family is under renewed attack,” said Senator Rosen. “With state legislatures passing dangerous new anti-choice laws and the Supreme Court threatening to roll back decades of precedent, it is more important than ever to stand up and defend reproductive rights as the future of Roe v. Wade hangs in the balance. I will never stop fighting in the Senate to protect abortion rights and make sure women in Nevada and across the country have access to the health care and treatment they need.”
Last year, Senator Rosen signed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to uphold Roe v. Wade. Senator Rosen is also a co-sponsor and strong supporter of the Women’s Health Protection Act, legislation to guarantee equal access to abortion rights nationally and safeguard against dangerous state-level bans and restrictions.
