Rosen-Led Carson City Public Land Correction Act Receives Senate Hearing

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources’ Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, & Mining held a hearing on Senator Jacky Rosen’s (D-NV) Carson City Public Land Correction Act (S. 1412), along with several other public lands bills.

The Rosen-led legislation would transfer land to Carson City to allow the city to better mitigate wildfire and floods, improve transportation, and improve access to outdoor recreation areas on adjacent city parks and open space properties. This legislation is co-sponsored by Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), who chaired the hearing.

“The Carson City public lands bill receiving a hearing is a critical step forward for this important legislation that would benefit our state capital and Northern Nevada,” said Senator Rosen. “This legislation will help improve management of Nevada’s public lands, better protect against floods and wildfires, improve transportation, and support continued economic development and growth.”
