Rosen Helps Secure Funding to Lower Energy Costs for Nevada Families

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen announced Nevada will be receiving more than $1.7 million in funding she helped secure to help lower energy costs for hardworking families. This funding comes from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), which helps low-income families reduce energy costs by increasing energy efficiency in their homes. On average, households using WAP save $372 or more every year on energy costs. Every year, Senator Rosen joins her colleagues in requesting robust funding for the Weatherization Assistance and State Energy Programs.

“High energy costs are squeezing hardworking Nevada families, and I’m fully committed to doing everything I can to provide them with financial relief,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to have helped secure this funding to lower energy costs for Nevadans.”

Senator Rosen has consistently worked to lower energy costs for Nevadans. Last year, she secured over $15 million in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding for the state. She’s also called on the Department of Justice to crack down on price fixing and gouging at the gas pump. Additionally, Senator Rosen helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act that are helping lower home energy costs for families in Nevada and across the country.
