WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) announced that Nevada will be receiving more than $18 million in funding they helped secure to improve airports across the state.
“Nevada’s airports are the beating heart of our state’s travel and tourism economy, which is why I’ve made it a priority to make sure that airports in every one of our communities have the federal resources they need to grow and succeed,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to announce these new investments, which will help strengthen airport infrastructure, support public safety, and improve passengers’ travel experiences. I’ll continue working to deliver federal resources to Nevada and fighting for our state.”
“From Las Vegas to our rural counties, Nevadans rely on our airports for everything from travel and tourism to lifesaving air ambulance care,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “That’s why it is so critical that every corner of our state has the infrastructure funding it needs to keep our airports safe, efficient, and up-to-date.”

Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have long worked to ensure Nevada’s airports receive their fair share of federal funding. Last week, Senator Rosen announced new firefighting vehicles at Harry Reid International Airport that she helped secure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. They have secured millions in funding for clean transportation and improvements at Harry Reid International Airport and at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Both Senators prioritized important airport terminal funding in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and also pushed to secure funds through the American Rescue Plan to support Nevada’s airports and airline workers through the pandemic’s economic crisis to the industry.
