WASHINGTON, DC – One week out from open enrollment, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) is continuing her push to extend the ACA premium tax credits and keep health care affordable for thousands of Nevadans. A recent analysis by the non-partisan Kaiser Family Foundation showed that health care premiums for hardworking families would more than double if the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits are not extended this year. In Nevada, nearly 95,000 people directly benefit from these tax credits.

Anchor: “U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen held another virtual roundtable with Nevadans today. The main topics of discussion were the Affordable Care Act’s premium enhanced tax credits and the impact on Nevadans health care costs if they expire. This comes amid the second longest government shutdown in modern U.S. history. Senator Rosen slammed the Trump Administration for the recent purchase of two private jets for the department of homeland security, and also for seeking a settlement for president trump’s past legal battles.”
Senator Rosen: “Every Nevadan works hard for their money, and especially right now, they’re being squeezed by rising costs. They pay taxes with the expectation that the government is going to work for them and provide critical services, but instead, their taxpayer dollars are being wasted on celebratory dinners, private jets, and payments to Donald Trump while services for Americans are being cut back or cut out—not just cut back. Cut out. Eliminated.”
