Following Rosen Push, Trump Administration Releases Funding to Help Lower Nevadans’ Energy Costs as Winter Approaches

WASHINGTON, DC –  Following a push from U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), the Trump Administration announced the release of $3.7 billion in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding, including over $15 million for Nevadans as winter approaches. Two weeks ago, Senator Rosen and her colleagues sent a letter demanding the Trump Administration release these funds that are critical for Nevada families and seniors to afford energy costs during the winter months.

“As rising energy costs continue to squeeze hardworking Nevada families, I’m fully committed to doing everything I can to provide them with financial relief,” said Senator Rosen. “I’m proud to have helped secure this funding to lower energy costs for Nevadans ahead of the winter season. As long as I’m in the Senate, I’ll keep pushing to make life more affordable.”

Senator Rosen has consistently worked to lower energy costs for Nevadans. In August, she secured $1.7 million in funding from the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which helps low-income families reduce energy costs by increasing energy efficiency in their homes. Last year, she secured over $15 million in Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding for the state. Senator Rosen has also called on the Department of Justice to crack down on price fixing and gouging at the gas pump. Additionally, Senator Rosen helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act that are helping lower home energy costs for families in Nevada and across the country.
