WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement applauding news that the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded a CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant totaling $3,300,000 to the Rural Nevada Development Corporation in Ely, Nevada to support Nevada rural small businesses.
“Nevada’s rural small businesses are the economic engine that keeps many of our communities afloat,” said Senator Jacky Rosen. “This grant funding will provide our rural small businesses, which have been disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, a lifeline, allowing them to keep their doors open. As Congress works to address this crisis, I will continue my work on the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee to bring much-needed support to all of our state’s small businesses.”
BACKGROUND: The CARES Act Recovery Assistance grant was awarded to capitalize and administer a Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), to Elko, Esmeralda, White Pine, Lincoln, Eureka, Lander, Pershing, Humboldt, Nye, Churchill, Storey, Douglas, Mineral, and Lyon Counties in Nevada, that will provide critical gap financing to small businesses and entrepreneurs in rural Nevada adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
