Rosen, Cortez Masto Applaud $2,215,000 DOT Grant Awarded to Nevada for Emission Reduction Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) released a statement applauding news of a Department of Transportation (DOT) grant totaling $2,215,000, awarded to the Tahoe Transportation District to be used for Nevada’s Low or No Emission Program

“We applaud DOT for awarding the Tahoe Transportation District this grant in order to continue reduction of vehicle emissions,” said the Senators. “This funding will help our state in purchasing and implementing low emission transit vehicles, as well as support the development of clean energy infrastructure facilities in Nevada.”

BACKGROUND: DOT’s Low or No Emission Program (Low-No) provides funding to State and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities such as recharging, refueling, and maintenance facilities.
