WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced her induction as one of 11 new Associate Members to join the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). CAPAC now has a record number of 75 members. Rosen was an Associate Member of CAPAC during the 115th Congress when she served in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I’m thrilled to join CAPAC as an Associate Member and to continue to shine a light on issues unique to Nevada’s AAPI community,” said Senator Rosen. “I will stand with CAPAC against this Administration’s attacks on our immigrant communities. Whether it’s implementing policies designed to intimidate our communities such as adding a citizenship question to the Census or undermining our health care law and the many important programs that aim to address minority health disparities, we know that there’s much work to be done to better represent the many Asian American and Pacific Islanders who call Nevada home.”
BACKGROUND: CAPAC was founded 25 years ago. The 116th Congress includes a historic high of 20 AAPI members in both the House and Senate. With the addition of these newest Associate Members, CAPAC is now comprised of 21 Executive Board Members in the House, four Executive Board Members in the Senate, and 50 Associate Members.
