Rosen Statement on 4th Anniversary of 1 October

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement honoring the memory of those lost and injured during 1 October, as well as praise for those who offered assistance during the horrific incident. Senator Rosen delivered a speech on the floor of the United States Senate yesterday in honor of all those impacted by the event.

“Four years ago, Las Vegas experienced tragedy on an unprecedented scale that forever changed our community and our state, and today we honor the memory of the 60 victims who lost their lives and the hundreds who were injured in what remains the worst mass shooting in American history,” said Senator Rosen. “We must also remember the men and women who made the selfless choice to spring into action – our brave law enforcement officers and first responders, our health care heroes, and everyday citizens helping save others. As we continue to heal from the trauma of that night, it’s past time for Congress to show the same kind of strength that the people of Las Vegas have shown since 1 October and finally take meaningful action to pass commonsense gun safety legislation. My thoughts today are with the victims, their families, and our resilient community. We will always be Vegas Strong.
