WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement commemorating Black History Month, which is celebrated each February:

“Black History Month gives us the opportunity to honor and celebrate the many prominent African Americans in our community and our history, and their achievements that helped shape Nevada and the nation,” said Senator Rosen. “While we reflect on their extraordinary accomplishments, let us also remember the tremendous sacrifices made in order to advance civil rights, the fight for justice, and equality for all. We must honor their legacy by continuing the fight against injustice in all forms, and by ensuring that our democracy is accessible to every American.”
